With a script in a sealed envelope awaiting them on stage, penned by Dissident-Iranian playwright, Nassim Soleimanpour, without benefit of a director or rehearsals, 8 solo artists blindly tackle this greatest of actor challenges before a claustrophobia-inducing, omniscient audience.
Internationally acclaimed “White Rabbit Red Rabbit”, is an audacious theatrical experiment and a potent reminder of the transgressive and transformative power of theatre.
URGENT: This play is NOT overtly political, and should not be portrayed as such. It operates on a deeper, metaphorical level, and very expressly avoids overt political comment. With 8 back to back performances of Iranian playwright Nassim Soleimanpour's controversial and innovative one-person play White Rabbit Red Rabbit. Taiwan's Top English -language performers will leap into the unknown right before your omniscient eyes.
This is a unique performance that is taking the theatre world by storm.
Yes, you read that right: The actor is introduced to the stage and given the script in a sealed envelope. He/She does not get to rehearse. They tear open the script and perform it for you sight unseen. This is not improvisation, this is best described as a staged cold reading. This moving and challenging play has been performed all over the world and is now set to make its Taiwan Premiere at The RedRoom.
The very secretive nature of this play promotes discussion, long after the experience. But only amongst those that have been "read in" on its secrets. We have created this interactive playbill to set up a secret group only for those that have seen it, to discuss it with Nassim, our playwright, or with any of our team members or sponsors.
